Obstacle – The obliterating effect of transformation on the artist

Breathe in. Breathe out.

We are in the daily business of reforming the world, our world at least, by shaping line, colour, movement, design, perspective, sound, and physical and digital properties, with our imagination – our inner world.

We hold our daydreams’ hand. For a little while. And we bring something back from them, a small ingredient we include. It’s not secret but it’s personal.

We ride the tail of our dreams, catching flickers of meaning between the beats. Another gold fleck for the corner of our eye.

We watch others living on the surface of the world, imagining what is behind, under, before, above, beyond, surrounding, within. Our resulting creative actions build histories, foundations, structures, shelters, depth, embraces and redemption. We don’t just have infinite choices, we make them.

In our observing, we are open. Regardless of our professional level, it is personal.

Obliteration. In the neutral sense. Total change. Paradigm shift. Old forms making way for new forms. When we apply our minds and our hands with the total energy of making and with skillful manipulation of the physical, change is reciprocal. We are remade in the image of our work. We can falter at this point, because we are human. But we can direct our faltering: bang head on wall or emerge through it.

Solution – Relish the force of creativity changing you

When you want your work to matter.

When you dim your own light

crikey, a boomerang

What else is a hat for?

Commenting – It’s never too late to comment on a post.
