Obstacle Technology

As a writer, being in the creative ‘flow’ is a sensation of pure bliss. Starting my blog, I took on the dual role of content writer and web designer.

Whilst doing your own technical work does increase your knowledge base, you may also be forsaking your most powerful asset – your time.

I soon became fully aware of how little I knew, and the mountain of information I had yet to learn. Design work was slow and arduous. The technical aspects of blogging left me feeling overwhelmed. Writing was suddenly replaced by deciphering rows of unfathomable code.

Nothing can eclipse the feeling of artistic joy quicker than having your computer crash. Panic and fear replaces creativity. Praying you have not lost every word you have written does not bode well with your artistic spirit. This was time I could be writing, creating, and firing up my imagination.

Solution – Ask for Help

Free up your valuable time and energy to fully focus on what you want to achieve. By all means, learn the basics. Self-sufficiency to a certain level is vital. If you are blessed with an IT savvy friend, love and appreciate them like no other. For major website/blog design work, hire someone. Get a variety of quotes and choose the best price and service to suit your specifications and budget. Don’t do it yourself. That is time, and money, well spent.

Dealing with soul-destroying computer crashes – backup, backup, backup!
